Right of Withdrawal

Notice: This contract is governed by Japanese law; no statutory EU right of withdrawal applies. Regardless, we grant the following voluntary cooling-off right.

  1. Period and start

You may withdraw from this contract within 14 days from contract conclusion (receipt of our digital enrollment confirmation) without giving any reason.

  1. How to exercise

To exercise the right of withdrawal, please send a clear statement (e.g., by email) to:

EL Nipponcademy Co. Ltd.
582-9 Hazukashifurukawachō, Fushimi-ku, 612-8486 Kyoto, Japan
Email: welcome@nipponcademy.jp

You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not mandatory.

  1. Starting performance during the cooling-off period

If you expressly request us to start performance during the cooling-off period (e.g., remote counseling, document review/submission, activation of course/community access), you shall pay a proportionate amount for services provided up to the time we receive your withdrawal.
If, at your express request, a service is fully performed within the cooling-off period, the withdrawal right no longer applies to that service.

  1. Pass-through amounts / payments to third parties

Amounts we forward at the original amount, in the name and on behalf of the Customer as pass-through to third-party providers (e.g., schools, accommodation providers, transfer/services) are refundable only to the extent that a refund is actually received from the relevant third party. Any refund is subject to the third party’s terms; we will remit any recovered amounts to you.

  1. Effects of withdrawal / refunds

We will refund payments within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, less:

  • the value of services already performed (Section 3),
  • non-recoverable third-party costs (Section 4),
  • any payment processing / transfer / bank and FX costs already incurred.

Refunds are made using the same means of payment where possible; FX differences cannot be equalised. We may withhold the refund until we have received any third-party repayments where applicable.

  1. After the cooling-off period

After the 14-day period, only the cancellation terms in the T&Cs (Section 7) apply.
